Your Child has a Cochlear Implant: Why Include Sign Language?

Debra Nussbaum, audiologist and Coordinator at the Cochlear Implant Education Center at Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center at Gallaudet University, wrote an article regarding the importance of sign language for children who have cochlear implants.  The article, entited "Your Child has a Cochlear Implant: Why Include Sign Language?" is a must-read for all parents who are considering an implant for their child or whose child has already had the surgery.

The article appeared originally in the Spring 2008 issue of The Endeavor, a publication of the American Society for Deaf Children.
