The services provided to DCS clients are funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and by generous donors. We continually strive to improve the quality of our programs and our knowledge and expertise in our field. Our continued success in meeting the needs of the children and families we serve can only be achieved by the generous support of our donor partners. If you would like to donate to DCS to support the growth and development of deaf and hard of hearing children in the province of British Columbia, or know of corporations, foundations, informal groups or individuals who are interested in helping us, contact us.

how to donate?
There are a variety of ways to donate to the Deaf Children's Society.
- You can go to Canada Helps and use their site to make a secure direct donation to one of our accounts. You can also click on the big pink button at the top of this page, and it will take you to our secure page at Canada Helps.
-You can send donations directly to our office, with a letter to let us know who you are and where we can find you to thank you and to issue a tax receipt.
-You can clean out your closet. All over the lower mainland, you will see blue boxes provided by the Trans Continental Textile Recycling Company. By dropping off bags of clean, used clothing, you are not only helping DCS, but three other agencies that support children in British Columbia. You can find locations for the blue boxes by calling 604 592 3008. Also, they have a website (www.transtextile.com) that explains how clothing recycling works, who it benefits, and other interesting facts.
At no time ever does our organization solicit donations over the phone
Donations from our generous supporters ensures continuing services to our clients and to the community. Donations are used where needed, but if you want to donate to a specific program, event or project, let us know.
Under One Roof: DCS has an interesting history. It began in a closet (yes, a closet) at the hospital, and as time went on it was apparent that proper offices were required. This lead to a move into a trailer in the parking lot of Sunnyhill Hospital. After a while, the trailer no longer met the needs of the program and the offices were relocated to their current location on Canada Way in Burnaby. The preschool has moved from location to location, previously in church basements but finally into a classroom at South Slope Elementary School/BC School for the Deaf. Our set-up is workable right now but everyone would prefer to be Under One Roof. If you would like to help us achieve our goal of bringing our programs and services under one roof, donate today, and let us know this is what you are supporting.
